Boisdale Consolidated School community comprises a diverse area with the four buses bringing children in from the farming districts and towns in a radius of over 2Okms. This means that many of the families would not meet, except through the school, and that some families may not have access to a community, except through the school.
Therefore, there is a very deliberate attempt to provide a whole range of opportunities for people to be involved in the school, as well as to meet in a social way with other members of our school community.
It is also recognised that there is a diverse range of people, that includes parents/carers, friends, local residents, other schools, business and community groups that are part of our immediate school community.
In providing a quality education for our students, we are committed to the development of a high profile and a close relationship, with both our own community and the wider community.
This is developed through the following school values:
Trust and Respect
· Behaving with integrity and treating all with high regard and respect.
Learning
· Recognising that there is much to be learned from everybody and practising
learning as a life-long process of continual development.
Honest Communication
· Developing positive and effective relationships with others; listening
and responding to others without judgement
and treating each other with respect.
Enjoyment
· Creating an environment in which everyone can enjoy himself or herself
as they participate and contribute to the school.
Inclusiveness
· Creating an environment in which people are valued for their skills
and are encouraged to participate and contribute to the school.
Community Involvement
We encourage, support and welcome parents/carers and community members to:
· Actively participate in the school’s programs, policy development
and reviews.
· Become active members of our school community.
· Share responsibilities in supporting children in their learning.
