Walhalla

It was the 7^th of August grade 5/6 were going to Walhalla for an excursion. We had to be at school really early the bus was leaving at 8:00am. It was a wet day but we were still going to have fun. We stopped at Glengarry on the way, the trip  took us about 1 and a half hours to get there. We were going to be doing two activities panning in Stringers creek and the Long Tunnel Mine. Mr.Kelly’s grade were doing panning first. We met the lady who was helping with the panning her name was Linda, we only got heaps of little specs of gold it, was still fun though. Next we went into the Long Tunnel Mine, we had to wear nets over our hair and hard hats in case rocks fell on our heads. We met Sheriff he told us about the mine and how they used to get gold he was really nice that was the end of the mine. We were going to go for a walk in the cemetery but unfortunately we ran out of time.
